How work finds you
PEOPLE
A ! over somebody's head means they have a job for you. Talking to them offers it; nothing is in your log until you accept. A ? marks whoever takes a finished quest back.
PAGES
Some quests are a page found on a body. It only ever drops to somebody who has not found that quest yet, and reading it is the start.
THINGS THAT HAPPEN
Crossing a gate for the first time, or felling your first Beast of a grade, opens a quest on its own. Nobody has to be talked to.
THE JOURNAL
Press J in game for every quest, coloured by state: what you are doing, who takes it back, and what you have done. Cargo has weight, is lost if you die, and the person who handed it over will hand you another.
